Political Already?
Posted in Uncategorized on 11/03/2008 09:58 am by RyanI opened/installed this blog a while back, and since then I’ve been trying to decide what to do with it. Should this be a political blog? I don’t really follow politics all that much… Maybe this should be a diary in which I post random thoughts everyday? But I’m not that diligent. This post will be political in nature, and we’ll see where the others take us.
I just got back over here from Josh’s Blog, Howl, in which he writes his last political post before the election. I really liked what he had to say there, and suggest you take a look at it. Essentially, he suggests that the GOP/Republican party has really gone downhill, and he gives a brief political history of the US starting in the 1980’s.
Furthermore, I would like to add to his ideas by saying that I would like to see *multiple* major political parties, like Canada. I believe they currently have 5 parties with somewhat equal representation in parliament, along with more smaller parties. George Washington warned us about becoming a bipartisan nation…too bad we’re all too stupid on average to have more that just 2 boxes in which to shove every politician.

i definitely think the more viable parties, the better, up to a point (wouldn’t be smart to have 20 or 30 parties because nobody would get a real majority). 5 or 6 like canada seems doable.
